Experts at Disney Research showed an app that adds augmented reality to children’s coloring books. By using mobile devices, they turn 2D drawings into 3D images. The software uses a deformable surface tracking method designed for colored drawings. It utilizes the outlier rejection algorithm for real-time tracking and surface deformation recovery. Disney Research had two user studies to evaluate the quality of our texturing algorithm and the app experience.
